From the Alps to Agile — A Swiss-Built Approach to Project Leadership

I grew up in Switzerland — where quality isn’t a catchphrase, it’s expected. From an early start in mechanical engineering, I’ve built a career leading cross-functional teams, coordinating international suppliers, launching new products, and turning technical chaos into consistent delivery.

Over two decades, I’ve led project teams across the U.S., Germany, Romania, Mexico, and China. I’ve managed $3M+ budgets. But I’ve also been in the trenches — rescuing delayed launches, fixing broken communication flows, and coaching Agile practices into real-world engineering environments.

That’s what CH-Alpha Projects delivers:
Structure. Clarity. Results. No fluff.

Why “CH-Alpha”?

“CH” is the international code for Switzerland (Confederation Helvetica) — and represents our foundation of precision, reliability, and engineering discipline.
“Alpha” symbolizes leadership, momentum, and direction.

Together, CH-Alpha Projects means Swiss-built progress — for teams who are building something important and need it done right.

Meet Volker Schwarz

My name is Volker Schwarz, and I’ve spent the past 25+ years helping engineering teams — from scrappy startups to global OEMs — turn bold ideas into delivered results.

I started my career in Switzerland, where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Juventus Schulen Zürich. Early on, I was drawn to the challenge of managing not just machines, but the people, systems, and chaos around them. Engineering was never just about CAD models or torque specs — it was about orchestrating timelines, budgets, suppliers, and milestones.

That curiosity led me down the path of project management, where I built my career around making complex technical projects actually happen.

From Hands-On Engineer to Strategic Project Leader

Experience That Spans Countries, Cultures & Complexity

I’ve led programs across Europe, Asia, and North America — from launching fuel systems and smart actuators to building cross-continental teams for simultaneous product development.

My resume includes:

Schaeffler / Vitesco Technologies: Leading a 15-person team for EV actuator development, delivering a multi-million Euro portfolio validated by 5 major OEM customers.

Continental Automotive: Managing cross-functional projects involving electronics, software, and mechanical systems across multiple time zones and languages.

Biax-Fiberfilm: Building custom meltblown machinery and certifying EU compliance for $500K+ in assets.

MALI International AG: Engineering and launching high-pressure fuel systems for China’s emerging diesel market — from the ground up. Joint-Venture with LiaoNing XinFeng Fuel Injection System: Role Vise President - CTO

Whether leading launches in Mexico, Romania, and China, commuting to Shanghai, or coordinating strategy from Chicago, I’ve learned how to align teams, tame timelines, and deliver — across continents and cultures.

I’ve Walked in the Engineer’s Shoes

Before I ever created a Gantt chart, I was in the trenches: welding brackets, debugging parts, and translating napkin sketches into testable prototypes. That hands-on experience gave me the empathy to understand what technical teams really need — and the grit to lead by example.

I understand the pressure of delivering working parts under impossible timelines, the tension between engineering and purchasing, and the late-night scramble when supplier tooling misses a gate. That’s why I’m not just a facilitator — I’m a translator between business and engineering, and a leader who knows how to get things done without micromanaging your team.

Along the way, I became a Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and a Lean operations coach. But my approach is always practical — not textbook.

I apply Agile practices to teams that have hardware constraints. I use Lean tools to reduce the 7 types of waste (Muda) in real manufacturing and product development environments. And I adapt my style to the tools and culture of your team — whether that’s a Kanban board or a shop floor whiteboard.
